Pets
Pets play an important role in our lives. For growing families they provide companionship, fun, protection, loyalty and love. They also provide useful experience for children in looking after and taking responsibility for a pet. In childless families they can be a child substitute while for elderly people pets can play an important role in providing companionship and giving their owners “somebody” to look after. Research amongst senior citizens has shown that owning a pet helps fight against apathy, depression and indifference.
Pets need love, companionship and attention – no different to the rest of us.
Fortunately it is now becoming easier to travel with your pets.
Not before time, some residential properties for the over 50s, are now permitting people to bring their pets with them, but this trend still has a way to go.
